“I felt I had been adrift for a while when it came to my professional life and career. I had been in and out of the editorial world for some time and while I was good at my job and loved writing I just didn’t feel as satisfied as I used to. I really felt like I needed some expert advice and guidance as well as someone to hold me accountable too. Aliya was the perfect fit and helped me beyond measure. I was facing and dealing with a lot of anxiety, low confidence and self esteem when it came to both my personal and professional life. Furthermore, I had trouble achieving my goals which only added to my self esteem issues. It was affecting pretty much every area of my life.
The lessons I have learned from Aliya during our 1:1 sessions have been eye opening and life changing. Early on in our work together, I confessed to Aliya that I felt I was at a crossroads career wise. It was either to continue to stay in the editorial/publishing world or go after a long buried dream of mine, to enter the wellness and fitness industry. To be more specific, I wanted to undergo my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training to become a certified Yoga instructor. I chose the second option and went along the path and today I am a registered Yoga instructor teaching both Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga. I am very proud of myself. I also learned to break down my goals into smaller pieces so they were more achievable thus becoming less anxiety provoking too.
I have become calmer and more at ease within myself too, and because I was feeling better about myself that spread out into my personal relationships as well. All of my family and friends as well as my husband noticed a positive change in both my behaviour and mood, because I was finally really good about myself after a long time.
Every single area of my life improved as a result of the sessions, as well as my mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health and wellbeing too. However, it’s important to note that it didn’t happen overnight; it wasn’t always easy. Yet Aliya guided and helped me along the way but at the end of the day I made the effort and undertook the challenges myself. It was all worth it.
I felt that I could truly be honest about where and what I had been struggling with and that I would not be judged by it. I also appreciated the fact that Aliya created our sessions with a very feminine energy and not a stressful and masucuine energy if that makes sense. It was very helpful to work with Aliya who is also a woman and very understanding as well.
