Become a Confident & Engaging Speaker: Dubai
Sunday 8th October

Rove, Downtown

An interactive session for professionals and entrepreneurs who want to learn how to become a confident and engaging speaker.

This full-day masterclass will will focus on 3 areas:

1. Theory: overcoming your mental blocks and developing a confident mindset using NLP and coaching techniques.

2. Learn what it means to be a confident and engaging speaker using verbal & non-verbal communication.

3. Practise practise practise with constructive feedback.

If you’re either a professional or an entrepreneur, becoming a confident speaker is absolutely crucial. Why?Because it’s not something you can hide away from. If you want to work your way up in your field, you need to stand out. You need to be seen and make a good impression on others, and a powerful way to do that is by knowing how to communicate in a way that informs, educates and inspires others.

And this is exactly what leadership is. Being able to spread your message in a way that will have successful outcomes as well as a positive impact on others.

If you’re an entrepreneur, then both your brand and your business are going to get left behind if you keep hiding away from opportunities. Everything is about visibility these days. And so if you’re not visible, no one’s going to know about you, let alone buy from you.

46% of respondents in a survey admit that they’ve been distracted during a co-worker’s presentation. Instead of watching the presentation they often do the following tasks; send text messages, surf the internet, check social media, or fall asleep. Let’s be honest, you definitely don’t want that to be happening when you’re up there speaking to your audience!

It’s one thing to simply stand in front of your audience and read from your Powerpoint presentation with the same tone of voice, and it’s another to speak in a way that makes your audience want to listen!

On Sunday 8th October Aliya will be running a full day training on how to become a confident AND engaging speaker so that you can stand out and thrive in your field.

This is going to be a highly practical session, with interactive exercises throughout the workshop to equip you with the vital tools needed to speak with confidence using your mindset, physiology and voice.

At this workshop you will learn how to:

  • Overcome your fear of being judged by others whilst speaking.
  • Effortlessly build rapport with your audience.
  • Speak with clarity and in a way that captivates your audience.
  • Use your body language and tone to engage your listeners.
  • The workshop will also include you working on a 5 minute presentation to practise and present to the group with tailored, specific feedback based on your public speaking goals.
  • The session is limited to 10 people due to the interactive nature of the event, so places are only available on a first come first serve basis.

After attending Aliya’s public speaking workshop I find myself confident in being able to communicate within a group/larger crowd. My team also thoroughly enjoyed her session and I have noticed a considerable change in the way they are able to express themselves especially with new clients. I would definitely recommend her workshops to other companies where ‘effective’ speaking is key to their business model. Thank you Aliya for an amazing session and look forward to attending future events!

I attended Aliya’s workshop on “How to Become a More Confident Speaker.” Aliya is a fantastic trainer and very personable. The training session was a roaring success, and I learnt a lot of ket points that I shall use when speaking in public and at events.

We spun around, danced, played in a ball pool, wrote letters to our younger selves and laughed until we cried (literally).

A little reminder to not take yourself, and life! too seriously. We can get so caught up in the day to day, work, responsibilities but that doesn’t mean we should forget to play 🙃laugh, and bring out our inner child 💃🏻
A little snippet from the ‘Speak, Lead, Succeed’ webinar last week, talking about 8 things that are stopping you from being a more confident public speaker and this is one of the biggest and most stressful ones! 😰

Rather than making the presentation all about YOU, try shifting your focus and putting all that energy into the delivery of your presentation instead and watch how much more smoothly it goes - and how much better you feel too! 💃🏻

There are always going to be people out there who There are always going to be people out there who have something to say about your life and get off on making judgements about who you are and where you are (or aren’t) in your life right now. Let them. Accept it and even embrace it. By dimming yourself down and trying to mould yourself into who you think you should be, and by suppressing yourself, your wants and your needs, you’re only going to bring yourself more pain than a few comments and judgements that are thrown your way would.

If you’re not happy with something, speak up. If you feel uncomfortable, set your boundaries, if you feel like you’re settling, make a change. Life is too short to stay stuck and stagnant when we know something isn’t right.

The ones who spend time talking and judging you are only doing so because they have the time to do so and clearly don’t have anything else inspiring going on in their lives. Do you really want to look back in 10 years time and say to yourself ‘my life would be so different now if I hadn’t spent so much time giving a sh*t about what other people think about me’ ?

You’ve been through a lot to get to where you are now and you need to give yourself way more credit❤️

If you’re in a leadership position, it’s impor If you’re in a leadership position, it’s important for you to be able to motivate, inspire and lead you team. But this is harder when you’re unable to motivate, inspire or lead yourself.

Once you’ve gained the tools to get out of your own way, take risks, overcome your fears and deal with the inner critic that’s in your mind, it becomes a lot easier and more natural to help your team to do the same.

If you’ve overcome these challenges yourself, you’ll have a lot more empathy, which is a crucial skill for great leadership.

And if your team have also learned to develop their self-confidence, it will lead to much higher productivity and increased motivation - woop!

On September 12th (7pm) I will be hosting a webinar on how to speak with more confidence as a leader. I will be sharing the details here, but if you’d like me to keep you in the loop feel free to comment below or send me a message.
Imposter syndrome explained in 40 seconds.. Impos Imposter syndrome explained in 40 seconds..

Imposter syndrome is experienced a lot more amongst high-achievers, resulting in ongoing feelings of self-doubt and anxiousness, accompanied by negative self-talk.

If this resonates with you, I would highly recommend taking out some time to reflect on your journey so far. One exercise I give to my coaching clients is to get them to write down
🌟 20 strengths they have (i.e. resilience, determination)
🌟 20 career/academic achievements
🌟 20 pieces of positive feedback received from others (i.e. a positive remark given about a presentation, recognition given by manager, client, colleague etc).

Yes this exercise is challenging but it’s a lot more rewarding than the ongoing frustrating feeling of not truly deserving to be where you are and holding yourself back from reaching your full potential.
A question I like to ask myself is : will I regret A question I like to ask myself is : will I regret not trying / going for this in the future?

And if the answer is yes then I know what I have to do. For me the idea of regretting something I know I could have done is much worse than the fear of trying / getting it wrong / making a mistake.

I know that even if the outcome was the complete opposite of what I wanted it to be, at least I can say that I listened to what I wanted and was bold enough to at least try - and how can you regret saying yes to you?

There’s real liberation in having so much trust in yourself that even if things don’t work out and get super messy, you know that you absolutely can and will figure it out ❤️

Did you know glossophobia (the fear of public spea Did you know glossophobia (the fear of public speaking) is the number one fear (even more than DEATH!)😰

There are loads of reasons why someone might be scared to get up and speak / socialise/ network / go for an interview / speak up in a meeting and it’s different for everyone.

The great news is that public speaking is absolutely a fear that you can overcome, AND and really excel in your area of work as a result. It just takes some mindset coaching, preparation, practice with feedback and some relaxation techniques.

What’s your biggest fear when it comes to speaking?

If speaking is a fear you want to overcome before the end of the year because you’re fed up with it holding you back in your career or business, drop me a message and let’s change that 🎤 🎙️
I’ve been teaching people how to develop their s I’ve been teaching people how to develop their self-confidence for the past 6 years, and one thing that my clients in leadership roles often share with me is that they have attended various public speaking courses and trainings, but what’s different about my coaching specifically is that we delve into their mindset.

Why? Because yes I can teach you how to stand and change your body language, or use your voice more powerfully, but if on the inside you’re still feeling self-conscious, you’re scared of not coming across as perfect, you’re nerves are taking over, then all you’re doing is just putting a band aid over the problem, not getting to the root, and you’ll still face the same issues time and time again.

What happens when you get asked a question that you’re not prepared for, or suddenly there’s a change in the agenda and you don’t have as long to speak as originally planned?

If you build on the muscle of self-confidence from the inside out, you’ll feel a more equipped. There will be moments where you forget your words or get distracted, but if you are confident in yourself you will know how to navigate through the situation and bounce back when you make a mistake.

My clients are always baffled at what comes up when we delve into it. Often they realise they’re suffering from huge amounts of imposter syndrome. At other times they realise that the standard they set for themselves is perfection and won’t settle for anything less. Sometimes it’s being self-conscious of the way they speak or because English isn’t their first language.

Whatever it is, once you identify it and work through it it’s absolute game changer!

A day in the life of a personal & professional dev A day in the life of a personal & professional development coach: Summer edition!☀️

It’s been a couple of years since I made one of these so thought it’s time for another one 😂 those of you who know me know I leave Dubai during the summer months because, well 🥵 and spend time in the UK.

Every day looks different but mostly consists of the same thing: coaching sessions & onboarding new clients, meeting people and building relationships, creating content and preparing for upcoming talks/ workshops.

I absolutely LOVE having a routine, and for me there are certain ingredients (as I like to call it 🍰)I need to feel good and energized throughout the day (ie having a solid routine, speaking to people I love, exercise, eating healthily, feeling accomplished and making an impact).

The reason why I am a personal and professional development coach is because I think that the 2 areas are not so separate. When we neglect our personal life it can impact how we show up at work, and when we’re unhappy at work it spills over into our personal life.

It’s important to know what you need in your day to help you to have more confidence and how to best pour into your own cup❤️
