Hi I’m Aliya, an Executive Presence and Public Speaking Coach based between London and Dubai.

I help executives and founders develop a deeper sense of authentic confidence from the inside out, overcome imposter syndrome and navigate through their negative inner critic so that they can really thrive in their roles.

You can be the most knowledgeable person in the room, but if you lack self-confidence, you’ll likely hold yourself back when it matters most. I help you change that.

Through practical coaching, mindset work, and tailored communication training, I support you in becoming your own biggest cheerleader – so that you can show up with clarity, presence, and authority.

Ready to stop playing small and start owning the room?

Originally from London, UK and now living in Dubai, I am a qualified life coach, health coach, and certified NLP Practitioner, speaker, trainer and podcast host. I studied Biomedical Science as my undergraduate degree and then completed my Master’s in Public Health at King’s College London. I quickly worked my way up the career ladder, being promoted after 6 months of starting my public health career, and then another 6 months after that, landing a role as a Senior member of my team in a national organisation aged 24. Although on paper I had my dream job, one that I had studied and worked so hard for, I couldn’t help but feel like something was missing.

Success Stories

Life coaching changed my life and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was at a point in my life where I felt stuck and wanted things to change. After working with Aliya I realised that it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. I just had to take the first step and do it and once I did everything started to move smoothly in my life. I have learnt how to overcome challenges without pressure and deal with situations more easily and in a more positive way.

I have seen so much growth within myself as a result of coaching and I am no longer holding myself back from doing what I want to do, and the areas I’ve seen the biggest improvements in are self-love, self-growth and communication. Aliya also feels like a friend, not just a coach and I love how understanding and non-judgemental she is, and how she knows how to deal with each situation. She really looked into people and helps them both believe in themselves and bring out the real person that’s within them.

I attended Aliya’s workshop on “How to Become a More Confident Speaker”.  Aliya is a fantastic trainer and very personable. The training session was a roaring success, and I learnt a lot of key points that I shall use when speaking in public and at events.

 Thank you Aliya.

💫 Speaking on a panel at the Manchester Chamber of Commerce for IWD, discussing parity and progress in the workplace

Outside of work…Ramadan, iftars & Eid 🤍A trip to Scotland with family 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 And lots of Pilates, barre, yoga & padel (although not enough hot girl walks thanks to the weather ☔️ )

Behind the scenes, I’ve continued working closely with a number of coaching clients on leadership, confidence and communication - always my favourite part of what I do.

I was due to be in Dubai (my second home) over the next couple of weeks to deliver sessions and trainings, but I’ve decided to postpone my trip for now. Hoping things settle very very soon 🤲

If you’re in a leadership role and want to strengthen your confidence, communication or presence - or you’re looking to bring this into your team - feel free to drop me a message. I’d love to have a conversation 🌟
Absolutely loved my recent conversation with Ana M Absolutely loved my recent conversation with Ana Merchant on the @atworkwith_ with podcast.

It was a full circle moment to go back in time and discuss and speak about my journey of leaving my stable public health career, starting my coaching and training business in 2017, and moving to the UAE a year later - my second home and a place that’s been incredible for taking an idea and making it happen.

Dubai has a rare mix of visionary thinking, ambitious energy, and a genuinely supportive community, and it shaped both my business and my confidence in ways I didn’t expect🤍

We also talked openly about imposter syndrome, how to give yourself permission to take up space, the confidence gap between men and women and how to build resilience through the challenges you face along the way.

It was an honest and reflective conversation, and I shared some of the habits, mindset shifts and practices that have supported me in building both confidence and a business from the ground up.

Such a wonderful IWD event hosted by @gmchamber a Such a wonderful IWD event hosted by @gmchamber at @australasia_mcr and thank you for inviting me to be part of the panel discussion on Parity and Progress in the workplace last week.

We explored what can be done at both an individual and organisational level to better support personal and professional development.

A few of the key themes I spoke about:

💫 The importance of visibility and working smarter, not just harder. Don’t wait until you feel “ready.” Often, growth comes from saying yes to opportunities and backing yourself along the way.

💫 Crafting your personal brand helps you get clear on how you want to be seen in the workplace. It’s worth taking the time to define the reputation you want to build, because fulfillment often comes from working in alignment with who you truly are.

💫 The confidence gap that can exist between men and women. In order to become more visible and take up space, it’s important to first identify the barriers holding you back - whether that’s perfectionism, overthinking or imposter syndrome, and begin working through those limiting beliefs with action.

If you’re looking to host a session for your team or are looking for speakers for your next event, feel free to drop me a message 🤍
Speaking at Amazon HQ in London yesterday to mark Speaking at Amazon HQ in London yesterday to mark International Women’s Day was a big highlight of the week! 🌟

I had the pleasure of delivering a session on Developing Executive Presence, exploring how professionals can strengthen their confidence, communication and visibility at work.

Executive presence isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room.
It’s about how you show up - your mindset, body language, and the way you communicate your ideas.

We discussed:
• building inner confidence
• using body language and communication intentionally
• developing strategic visibility in your organisation

One reflection that resonated with the room was this:

If someone senior in your organisation described you in a meeting, what five words would you want them to use?

Executive presence is about making sure those qualities are not only true - but visible.

Thank you to the team at Amazon for such a thoughtful and engaged audience, and for creating space for these conversations as part of International Women’s Day ❤️

I currently deliver leadership and communication trainings across the UK and Dubai. If you’re interested in hosting a session for your team, or would like to explore 1:1 executive coaching, feel free to drop me a message.

This was me in back in February 2018 running my fi This was me in back in February 2018 running my first ever public speaking workshop in London 🎤 - a month before I moved to the UAE.

There was a time when I was absolutely terrified of public speaking.

I would feel incredibly nervous.
My hands would shake.
I’d rush through my slides.
And I’d feel SO relieved when it was over😫

What my experience taught me is that public speaking isn’t usually something you choose to do. It’s something your role requires of you.

You get promoted.
You lead a team.
You pitch.
You present.
You speak on panels.

And suddenly, confidence becomes the difference between staying where you are and stepping into bigger rooms.

Since 2017, I’ve consistently coached and trained professionals and business owners on developing their:

• Confidence
• Executive presence
• Communication
• Public speaking skills

It’s been a journey filled with growth, setbacks, rebuilding and resilience - especially growing a business from scratch in a new country.

I didn’t have a roadmap but I was relentless about having self-belief and obsessed with building something that makes a real impact.

Nine years later, I’m still deeply committed to helping people feel powerful, self-assured and clear in their own voice.

If this resonates and you’d like to explore how I can support you or your team, feel free to message me and we can arrange a call.

What’s the link between having being a confident s What’s the link between having being a confident speaker and having a grounded nervous system?

When your nervous system is regulated, you’re able to:
-Think clearly under pressure
-Stay present with your audience
-Respond rather than react
-Communicate with calm authority

True executive presence comes from self-awareness and emotional regulation - because people don’t just listen to your words, they feel your energy. And if you constantly have 100 tabs open in your mind at all times it makes it much harder to be present and connect with your audience.

When you learn to regulate yourself, you naturally become a more confident, engaging and impactful speaker 💫
If you go into a presentation telling yourself “I’ If you go into a presentation telling yourself “I’m SO nervous and am going to mess up” your brain and body start working to prove that’s true. You become more self-conscious in front of your audience, your heart rate speeds up, your breathing becomes more shallow, and because there’s a lack of grounding and presence you’re more likely to rush and make mistakes and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Instead you need to start with the end in mind. What is your ideal outcome for your presentation - and what must you start telling yourself instead?

Alongside 1:1 leadership coaching and corporate tr Alongside 1:1 leadership coaching and corporate trainings, one thing I love doing on the side is working with young people, supporting them to develop the tools to build confidence, develop a positive mindset and more resilience to help them prepare for their future.

Last month, I delivered a confidence and communication workshop at King’s College London, where I completed my postgrad, and this weekend I delivered a public speaking session at the @aiesecinuae Summit in Dubai, hosted at Abu Dhabi University. Thank you to the student team who organised such a great event 🎤

Young people today are navigating a lot of pressure, comparison, uncertainty - and confidence is one of the biggest challenges I see, but I’m always really inspired by how much of a growth mindset they have and their willingness to learn and get out of their comfort zones.

I also keep a small number of 1:1 coaching spaces open for young people. If you’re a parent and this feels relevant, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can have a call to discuss 💫
2016 ✨ This seems like a whole lifetime ago - pr 2016 ✨

This seems like a whole lifetime ago - pre quarter life crisis where I left my stable public health career, started my own business, left London and moved to the UAE 🇦🇪

As you can see from the caption in the first slide - public speaking was ‘one of my most scariest moments so far’ - if you had told me then that I would one day LOVE public speaking, be training C-suite on how to speak with confidence, and run a business that involves a lot of speaking I probably would have laughed so hard because I remember that talk - I was shaking, felt sick, looked down the whole time and rushed just to get through. (I actually spoke about this memory at a talk I delivered at Abu Dhabi university this morning - a cute full circle moment).

I started to build my confidence with speaking and gave a talk at the Houses of Parliament.

I had a lot of energy and hated the idea of sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day and so started ‘office yoga’ at Public Health England where we all got up twice a day and did some stretches. People initially looked at me like I was crazy but I didn’t care and did it anyway because it helped me. The idea caught on and the group became so big and the concept accidentally ended up spreading nationally. I was interviewed about what I had started and then it ended up being something that offices did all around the country - haha (follow that crazy idea you have guys).

Brunches in London, oversized necklaces, chubby cheeks, lots of insecurities, selfie sticks, and when we only used IG to follow our friends and post our meals ❤️

There’s SO much going on in the region right now with upcoming summits, conferences , panel talks and with that the desire to communicate with confidence, articulate ideas clearly and continue building strong personal brands.

It’s been pretty exciting over the past few months working with clients across a wide range of industries including AI, legal, football, procurement, finance, real estate, telecoms and construction (I also love how much I learn about what’s happening in each industry from their presentations!).

I have a couple of spaces available for 1:1 bespoke programmes. If you would like to explore working together, or are interested in hosting something for your team - feel free to drop me a message and let’s have a conversation.

“English isn’t my first language”
With the UAE being so culturally diverse, these are barriers that come up a lot from clients during sessions and reasons for them saying no to speaking at conferences and panel invitations.

But this is the wrong thing to focus on. English could be your first language, but if you’re monotone, using lots of filler words, having closed body language, and not engaging your audience then your audience will lose focus and you won’t be able to make an impact.

A question the audience discussed during the publi A question the audience discussed during the public speaking workshop I delivered at the k150+ summit last month - and a powerful one to ask yourself if you’re in a leadership role or run your own business.

How would being a better communicator help you to thrive more in your role?

When you’re able to communicate effectively you’re able to build trust, educate, motivate and inspire. When you can share your message effectively in front of a group, you strengthen your credibility and elevate your personal brand.

 What’s your why?

“I want help building my confidence at work” is th “I want help building my confidence at work” is the most popular line that comes through my DM’s and enquiry form. Either they’ve just taken on a new leadership role, are looking to be promoted soon, have a lot more responsibility or been asked to increase their visibility and speak more in front of an audience.

There’s the fake, surface level confidence which is performative and you might be able to get away with doing in the short term. But then when you’re alone you still end up feeling the same sense of imposter syndrome, self-consciousness and that you’re not good enough to do the things that deep down you know you would be able to do really well if you just got out of your own way.

To build a more authentic, long-lasting sense of real confidence the key is to look at your life a little deeper.
💔 Maybe your recent break up with your partner has completely thrown you off track and affected your sense of identity.
😣You’re currently overworking, burnt out and have zero time to do anything that gives you any sense of joy.
🗣️You struggle to have conversations, network and build relationships with people.
🤯You constantly have a hundred tabs open at one time in your mind and struggle to be fully present and mindful.
👎🏽The unrealistic high standards you place on yourself means nothing you do ever feels good enough.

All of these things are going to impact how you feel about yourself, how you move through the world and show up at work.

If you’re in a leadership role and any of the above resonates with you, feel free to drop me a message and let’s have a conversation.
